I have made a series of screen prints. One image is taken from an old photograph, and the other from a painting of which the source material was an old photograph.

 

In considering the duplication and repetition of an image I felt that printing would lend itself well to this image manipulation.

 

I was interested by the printmaking and mass production seen in the exhibition Love is Enough: William Morris and Andy Warhol at Modern Art Oxford and in the use of print mixed with painting an in Alibis: Sigmar Polke 1963-2010 at Tate Modern. 

 

I printed on a variety of papers including tracing paper so I could investigate layering the images.
